Mission / Collab Mix City

Connect music, artists and producers to make better productions worldwide.

That sentence is the whole mission. Everything else on this site — the planner, the roster, the representation, the destinations — exists to serve it.

Origins

1021 Cliff Drive,
Santa Barbara, 93109.

Collab Mix City started here in 2013 — founded by Axel Brundin, musician, songwriter, guitarist and singer, and a former musical artist who knows what it feels like to walk into a studio with no leverage and no one translating.

The address is not a formality. It is where the mission was written down, and it is still the standard the platform is measured against: does this help two people make a better record together?

Vision

A world where the next great record can start in any room, with anyone.

We want geography to stop deciding who gets to make good music. An artist in Lagos, Lisbon or Linköping should be able to build a session in Oslo, Tokyo or Toronto as easily as someone with an industry address book.

We want studios and production companies to be found on the strength of their rooms and their work, not their marketing budget — and to meet artists who arrive prepared, with a real plan and a real budget.

And we want the space between them to be handled with care: agreements made honestly, identities protected, and nobody left feeling like the small party in a big transaction.

Ideas we build on

SIX IDEAS.

01

ANONYMITY IS A CHOICE.

An artist should be able to be judged by sound alone. A handle protects you until the moment you decide to step forward — your private email stays with us, never with a studio.

02

NOBODY NEGOTIATES ALONE.

We stand between the artist and the room. We take the request to the studio and make the agreement on the artist's behalf, so the creative side stays creative.

03

A BUDGET IS NOT A WALL.

Tell us the dream and the number. You get an honest price range and the destinations that fit it — not a sales pitch for the most expensive room available.

04

THE ROOM IS THE INSTRUMENT.

Where you record changes what you make. We treat cities and studios as destinations, so a project can be built around the place that suits the song.

05

EVERYTHING ELSE IS OPTIONAL.

Producers, beatmakers, songwriters, engineers, players, video, accommodation — added to the plan only when the record needs them, priced in the open.

06

WELCOME AND PROFESSIONAL.

This is a place where a first-time artist feels at home and a music executive still wants to sit down. Both belong here, in the same room.

Progress along the way

THE ROAD SO FAR.

A ROOM ABOVE THE OCEAN.

Collab Mix City begins at 1021 Cliff Drive, 93109, with one conviction: the right people in the right room make better records — and finding them should not depend on who you already know.

THENSWEDEN · CALIFORNIA

TWO SIDES OF THE GLASS.

Playing, writing and recording as an artist, then studying music, political science, philosophy and business between Sweden and California — the questions got bigger than one project.

NOWTHE PLATFORM

ONE PLACE, EVERY ROLE.

Artists join free and stay anonymous. The recording planner turns a dream session into a price range and a shortlist of destinations. Producers, studios and production companies can join the network. A gear store points artists to the tools they need.

NEXTIN PROGRESS

MORE ROOMS, LESS GUESSWORK.

A live, verified directory of studios and production companies worldwide, direct email alerts when a request arrives, approved partner retail links in the store, and more destinations added as the network grows.

Bring us what you are trying to make.

Tell us the song, the budget and the place you keep imagining. We will price it, shortlist the rooms and make the agreement with the studio for you.
